Can you tell me more about the event?

For the 2016 holiday season the Holiday Train Ride experience at St. Louis Union Station will be rebranded with a new, exciting theme Santa’s Express Train Ride featuring TWAS. The added new elements and twist will certainly make this the talk of the holiday season. Children of all ages are encouraged to wear cozy pajamas and relax with family and friends on a journey you’ll treasure together year after year.

Where do we get on board?

Each car will be equipped with signage and information as to which car is which, there will be staff present as well to assist guests with all boarding procedures.

Do we get off the train?

No, the train will depart Union Station at the specified times and go on a round trip to Santa’s House and back.

How long does the train ride last?

The train ride will last approximately 45 minutes

Is the train wheelchair accessible?

Yes, there are specific cars that will have wheelchair and ADA accessibility.

Are strollers allowed on board?

No. Strollers can be left at the train depot.

Glacier Park Hours

Glacier Park is open 7 days a week from 3:00pm to 10:00 pm. Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Train Dates are as follows: November 18-20, 23, 25-27, 30; December 1-4, 7-11, 14-24, 26-30

4:45pm / 6:15pm / 7:30pm / 8:30pm


What is the cost of tickets?

Ticket prices vary based on the different sections of seating, packages purchased, etc.

My child is two years old. Does he/she need a ticket?

No, children 2 years old or younger do not require tickets.

What if I can’t make my train or if there is a snow storm?

Tickets are non-refundable. If the train ride is canceled by the Rail Hospitality, it will be rescheduled and ticket holders will be notified.

I already purchased my tickets and asked that they be held at Will Call. Where is that located?

Will Call will be located inside Union Station to left when you enter the building

Are there any tickets left? What nights/times are still available?

Yes, we have a number of different options available still to purchase.

Are there any group rates available?

Yes, for groups of 10 or more, please call 877-TWAS-STL, ext. 704.


Standard Train Tickets

Santa Express train ticket and access to North Pole Village, hot chocolate and a Christmas cookie.  Meet and greet with Santa Claus including photo opportunity. (Picture packages available for purchase).

First Class Tickets

First class tickets include all features of the standard tickets, PLUS: Priority boarding.  VIP Elves Club membership and admission to VIP area where you can meet one of the Master Elves.  Hot chocolate is served in a souvenir mug and adults have the option of alcoholic or non-alcoholic, coffee or hot chocolate drink in a souvenir mug.

Premium Class Tickets

Premium ticket includes all features of the Standard and First Class ticket features, PLUS: Seating is in one of our special Dome Reception Cars as pictured.

Value Offers and Short Trips?

We have a number of different options when it comes to offering guests tickets and rooms at a great value. Our North Pole Lodge packages offer families a great opportunity to stay here at the Historic Union Station Hotel and enjoy the Santa Express along with all the other wonderful activities that are being offered here at Union Station. Individual tickets for all other activities within Glacier Park such as Ice Skating, the Snow Tube hill, etc. will also be available for purchase outside of the train tickets. On selected dates we will offer large groups the opportunity to book short private trips with a chance to customize their experience.

Where is parking?

Parking will be located in the main South Lot of Union Station. Special Event signs will direct guests to specific areas for event parking within the lot.
